CNO Financial Group Actuarial Intern Summer 2022 in Carmel, Indiana
CNO’s Actuarial Intern program is designed to introduce college students to the application of actuarial skills in insurance. Summer interns will gain valuable experience with the company's products in life insurance, annuities, and/or supplemental health insurance, in both the product management and valuation areas. Interns will have the opportunity to interact with actuaries and each other over the course of the internship, get a behind-the-scenes look at the quantitative tools actuaries use, and see the inner workings of an Insurance company.
This is a paid internship, at competitive rates.
As an Actuarial Intern, your responsibilities will include:
Simplifying and standardizing valuation calculations
Converting calculations to new software
Providing clear documentation and communication of technical work
Improving projection tools with input and guidance from assigned actuarial group

Qualified candidates for an Actuarial Intern position will have:
Progress towards a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, economics, finance or another related field
Minimum GPA of 2.7 / 4.0
A commitment to achieving Society of Actuaries designation
Current status as a rising junior or rising senior, with anticipated graduation date between December 2022 and December 2024. CNO is striving to bring 4 rising seniors and 4 rising juniors into the program.
Availability to work 10-12 weeks during the summer
Superior analytical, mathematical and project management skills
Experience using Microsoft Excel, Office products, and VBA/SAS/SQL programming are a plus
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
To be eligible for consideration, candidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Please note that the Company does not intend to sponsor work visas with respect to these positions or to provide these positions as OPT or CPT.
CNO Financial Group is pursuing a hybrid working model. For students residing within 90 minutes of their affiliated Office (Carmel or Chicago), interns will have access to come into the office up to 2 days/week, and work from home at least 3 days/week. For interns not residing within 90 minutes of their affiliated Office, CNO also offers a full time work from home arrangement.
To ensure accessibility to our corporate campuses, we ask that candidates for full time opportunities after graduation plan to live within a 90 minute drive of Carmel or Chicago upon graduation.
