CNO Financial Group Corporate Communications Intern - Summer 2022 in Carmel, Indiana
CNO’s Corporate Communications Intern program is designed to introduce college students to the application of marketing skills at a leading insurance company. This is a paid internship, at competitive rates.
As a Corporate Communications Intern in the CNO Financial Group you have an opportunity to gain valuable communication skills while helping CNO increase its internal and external visibility. You will have the ability to interact with CNO leaders and help create communication between the company and its many associates and help with planning company events, writing press releases, and creating media kits and digital campaigns.
As a Corporate Communications Intern, your responsibilities will include:
Assist team in the development, execution and management of proactive public relations strategies including drafting media materials, including but not limited to press releases, fact sheets, briefing sheets and pitches.
Perform media monitoring and tracking.
Implement day-to-day internal communication activities for CNO.
Support team with company award and recognition programs by submitting and completing award applications, including the Great Place to Work.
Work closely with team to create fun, creative ways to share news about CNO internally and externally.
Participate in client brainstorms and program ideation.
Interact with senior leadership and business leaders to align communications across the company.

Qualified candidates for a Corporate Communications Intern position will have:
Progress towards a bachelor’s degree in journalism, PR or communications, or a related discipline
Strong writing skills
Social media knowledge
Manage time to complete work timely and accurately
Ability to work independently and as a motivated team player
Ability to be organized and prioritize work; seek direction as appropriate
Current status as a rising junior or rising senior, with anticipated graduation date between December 2022 and June 2024.
Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
Availability to work 10-12 weeks during the summer
Experience using Microsoft Excel, Office products
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

CNO Financial Group is pursuing a hybrid working model. Our associates will have access to come into their affiliated Office (Carmel, Chicago or Philadelphia) up to 2 days/week, and work from home at least 3 days/week. To ensure accessibility to our corporate campuses, we ask that candidates reside within a 90 minute drive of the position location OR plan to live within a 90 minute drive of the position location upon graduation.
