The Project Manager, IT is responsible for leading and managing the outcomes of large complex projects with multiple work streams and/or several small projects in various phases of project delivery. This role coordinates, supports, and assists all aspects of large, complex, and/or cross-functional projects from original concept through the final implementation, ensuring governance process adherence, project continuity, and stakeholder management. Large projects will typically require up to approximately 20,000 development and/or QA hours over its project duration. This position develops project budgets and is responsible for performance against financial parameters and monitoring and reporting on projects. This position drives business value by collaborating across departments to deliver outcomes of multiple complex projects and/or enhancements with significant business impact.
Key Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Manage outcomes of large, complex, cross-functional, projects, including monitoring scope, milestones, dependencies, costs, and benefits through lifecycle.
Develop project budgets. Responsible for performance against financial parameters and monitoring and reporting on projects.
Request project resources, allocating work activities, and managing the day-to-day activity assignments.
Create project artifacts, such as project plans, measures, team and stakeholder communications, resource and time management.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with key customers, vendors and suppliers. Manage key stakeholder and project manager commitment levels and communication. Facilitate vendor and supplier evaluations.
Ensure projects follow all company and departmental policies, procedures, and standards. Identify dependencies within the project and amongst projects managed concurrently
Identify and highlight risks and issues within the project and escalate appropriately. Devise effective mitigation and escalation strategies for projects to address risks and issues.
Lead governance structures and processes to drive and manage the project. Manage implementation of project management methodology and governance tools. Drive projects through project governance methodology and ensure compliance to tollgates.
Lead regular project reviews with Project/Program Managers and stakeholders.
Manages all phases of project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, control and closing)
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of technical project management principles and practices.
Must have excellent communication skills; both orally and in writing, demonstrating an ability to communicate to a wide spectrum of cross-functional team members.
Skills in financial management and budgeting, as well as procurement and contract negotiations across the project.
Able to work with cross functional teams; onshore and offshore
Detail oriented; able to manage project plans in Innotas and RIDA logs in Sharepoint
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field; or equivalent.
Minimum of five to seven years of related work experience.
Project / Program certifications preferred.
