CNO Financial Group Senior Managing Actuary Corporate Actuarial in Carmel, Indiana
The Senior Managing Actuary, Corporate Actuarial prepares actuarial analysis for senior management understanding of current and strategic endeavors. They address the need to provide company-wide analysis of expenses, financial projections, oversight of financial statement results, and support M&A activities. They coordinate annual reserve testing and annual financial planning. They manage and enhance our capabilities of our enterprise value model.
Key Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Prepare analysis for use by the Chief Accounting Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Actuary, and Valuation Actuary.
Coordinate enterprise actuarial projections for financial planning and reserve testing.
Present the analysis of capital by line of business to senior management and provide recommended actions (tactical and strategic) to improve capital efficiency within the insurance entities.
Develop and present actuarial divestiture analysis and value recommendations for Corp Development as needed (M&A).
Manage and develop valuation and corporate actuarial controls structure.
Coordinate 10-K, actuarial memorandum, and consolidated reporting for valuation and corporate actuarial functions.
Assist with company expense analysis including the development of appropriate expense assumptions for modeling needs.
Manage and coordinate company reinsurance analysis and oversight in collaboration with the Sr Director of Reinsurance and Ops Programs.
Maintain and enhance the embedded value process. Recommend strategic actions to maximize the company appraisal value.
Develop and oversee the product pricing confirmation process within Corporate Actuarial.
Coordination of annual stress testing analysis.
Maintain rating agency capital models and advise on strategic actions that can beneficially impact our ratings.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience with mid-size life insurance company
People management and development experience
Familiarity with interest sensitive products
Strong familiarity with financial reporting and disclosures
Strong familiarity with actuarial reserve testing and embedded value modeling
Strong communication and presentation skills
Familiarity with product pricing
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related experience required
ASA required; FSA preferred
At least 10 years of actuarial experience required
