CNO Financial Group Sr. Director Global Partner Engagement IT in Carmel, Indiana

As the Sr. Director, IT Global Partner Engagement on the IT Strategy team, you will be accountable for shaping, nurturing and maximizing the partnerships between CNO and key Service Providers throughout the world, adhering to the “Build One Team” principle. This role will leverage global and cultural practices of the organization and local communities to effect optimal performance and positive change. This role will optimize organizational effectiveness by taking into account the impact of diversity and global perspective. This role will oversee the performance, relationships, financials, engagement and outcomes for CNO IT’s top 5 partners. (Five is not a firm number – could be 4,5,6 – the key partners). The specific partners could change over time. Long-term relationship planning and engagement are the key drivers, but there will be daily tactical engagement as well. The role includes the regular review and potential replacement of service providers. This encompasses everything from evaluation, selection, transition and the effective integration of any service providers into the CNO IT organization. The integration is inclusive of implementing CNO IT’s overall Outsourcing Strategy, developing and leading governance model, monitoring all outsourced activities, ensuring service delivery is effective and within defined boundaries, and coordinating with each IT functional area on their sourcing requirements and expectations. This role develops and maintains high performing, long-term “win-win” partnerships with service providers. A key aspect of the role is to boost morale and build productivity within teams for better and more efficient execution of tasks and projects and ultimately leading to a better user experience.

Your Impact:

  • Oversee the performance, relationships, financials, engagement and outcomes for CNO IT’s top key partners.

  • Analyzes ongoing partner performance and ability to meet the SLAs and KPIs. Examines the relationship dynamics between CNO and its partners; implement solutions to develop more cohesive interactions.

  • Monitors partner budgets and expenses, and supports the IT finance and VMO teams to ensure benefits realization are met.

  • Ensures risks are identified/discussed/mitigated related to the services provided by the partners; monitors key KRI’s. Ensures the right KPI’s are in place to drive the right behaviors and measures are in place to monitor submission of ideas/innovation.

  • Challenges partner to continuously improve and reset SLA’s annually to meet the agreed upon improvement areas.

  • Conducts meetings with team members and Partners to find solutions to known or arising complications and to strengthen partnerships. Cultivates strategic sourcing partnerships based on teamwork, collaboration and direct communication adhering to the “One Team” principles.

  • Partners with the IT communication’s team to foster the principles of “One Team” across IT Partners. Partners with the business to obtain feedback on “One Team” performance

  • Assists IT training team in developing valuable training modules to address cultural diversities and engaging team members in a long corridor model.

  • Interacts on an executive level within CNO to ensure that tactics and sourcing related activities address CNO’s needs

  • Partners with the Vendor Management Office (VMO) to examine vendor governance processes and deliverables. Partners with the VMO to hold monthly\quarterly governance meetings

  • Provides key resource feedback to partner on the account. Ensures partner and CNO compliance with contract terms, conditions, commitments and notifications.

  • Collaborates with the Strategy and Performance teams to perform Partner audits (financial, regulatory, technical, security, risk, etc.) Identifies potential partnership risk areas, corrects ineffective behaviors, develops, executes and manages mitigation plans. Ensures resolution of escalated issues with Partners.

  • Collaborates with key stakeholder groups ensuring the overall effectiveness of outsourcing initiatives.

  • Advocates for and examines engagement models between partners and IT teams ensuring best practices for Services Provider engagement, and the harvesting and distributing of new IT innovation .

  • Reviews contracts, SLA’s, Change Orders, and SOW’s with partners for contract optimization and risk minimization

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and abilities in large program management, including contract management.

  • Demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments.

  • Possesses excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills; ability to work across business lines at senior levels to influence, instill confidence and effect change to achieve common goals and demonstrate the business value.

  • Proven vendor management and partner relation expertise to identify and leverage internal.

  • Strong ability to make critical assessments and recommendations on complex issues to present to Sr. Management.

  • Excellent communication & presentation skills, both oral and written. Proven capability to work well with all levels of the organization. Capable of interacting with Executives and Business Relationship Managers (BRM) and ensuring rapport with Service Providers and other third party vendors.

  • Demonstrates good time management and organizational skills; strong ability to manage multipleassignments concurrently.

  • Demonstrates proven problem resolutions skills. Aptitude for fostering effective relationships

  • Customer focused. Drive to get things done; possesses a bias for action

  • Willingness to make decisions and take smart risks

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.

  • Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree is the minimum required education, but a master’s degree is preferred.

  • Typically a minimum of ten years of IT and technology experience, including a minimum of five years of IT leadership experience in areas of responsibility and in similar roles within a comparably sized company

  • At least five years of IT vendor management, specifically with sourcing vendor management, highly preferred.

  • Proven partner management experience, including large offshore service providers.
