CNO Financial Group Sr Director, Investment Accounting in Carmel, Indiana

CNO Financial Group’s Accounting Department is hiring a Sr Director Investment Accounting for all aspects of the accounting and reporting of the invested assets of CNO Financial Group, Inc. on GAAP and STAT bases of accounting, excepting certain real estate and policy loan assets.

This is your opportunity to lead a team in the delivery of accurate and timely accounting and reporting requirements, implementing changes as a result of accounting and reporting changes as well as new investment classes, and developing and training the team.

As a Sr Director Investment Accounting, your responsibilities will include:

  • Makes personnel decisions and supervises personnel activities for the department.

  • Effectively communicate the results of the investment activity period by period and provide insights to management on accounting and reporting matters related to the portfolio.

  • Support the goals and visions outlined by the senior management impacting the investment accounting team.

  • Leads the monthly and quarterly closing processes performed by the Investment Accounting team.

  • Coordinate the quarterly close calendar with the corporate finance team is critical to meeting deadlines for external reporting to shareholders.

  • Coordinate with financial reporting responsible for statutory financial statements is also key for timely delivery of quarterly statutory financial statements.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study.

  • Knowledge of investments and investment accounting systems, US GAAP, and US statutory accounting principles.

  • Experience successfully leading remote teams.

What will set you apart:

  • CAMRA, Crystal Reports and Hyperion experience a plus.

  • CPA or MBA preferred.

  • Experience within Audit.

This role is full time work from home (WFH), also known as Remote. This role can be performed from any US based location within the central or eastern time zone. CNO Financial Group offices reopened in April 2022 and is pursuing a hybrid working model. Associates who live within a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Philadelphia, Orlando and Milwaukee) will have access to come into that Office up to 2 days/week, and work from home at least 3 days/week. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
