CNO Financial Group Sr IT Data Analyst - REMOTE from any US central or eastern time zone in Carmel, Indiana

CNO’s Data Team ( part of our IT team ) is hiring a Senior Data Analyst to be responsible for identifying, profiling, and mapping data in meaningful ways across our enterprise data landscape. The role focuses on building a technical and analytic skill set that will be used in execution of our data governance, data delivery, and technology modernization initiatives.

This role is a great opportunity to work with folks from across the business and within IT as you build knowledge and expertise of CNO’s data and systems landscape. Very quickly you will start to draw meaningful insights that support data quality programs, policyholder sales, and customer service projects, and eventually contribute to more transformational data analytics and programs.

As a Sr. IT Data Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

  • Define analytics objectives, specifying processes, methodology and approach; design analysis plan; synthesize data from multiple data sources into understandable and actionable information.

  • Contributing content and supporting the ongoing development of our data catalog and data governance tools

  • Collaborating with other analysts, architects, and development teams to specify and identify data requirements and build solutions that leverage our enterprise data assets

  • Implement internal quality data checks and standards to identify, track and report data discrepancies to ensure compliance

  • Researches data and processing issues and provides input into data quality improvements

  • Performing root cause analysis related to production support and project requests

  • Becoming knowledgeable and proficient using reporting and visualization tools

  • Learning and leveraging enterprise tools and technologies that improve our data analysis capabilities

  • Trains Data Analysts

The Sr. IT Data Analyst position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of SQL code creation and how the data output translates to client deliverables.

  • Ability to clean and compile data to provide analytical driven solutions to real business problems and resolve complex data issues.

  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills

  • Have strong analytical thinking capability and are good at translating business problems into analytical questions and summarizing data to reach conclusion.

  • Are collaborative, cooperative, and team oriented, with a bias toward action and thrive in an evolving, multi-tasking environment.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer/information science, information systems, data analytics, software engineering (or similar degree)

  • At least three years of experience with Oracle and two years of experience with ETL processes.

  • Solid knowledge of ETL (Extraction, Transformation, and Loading), reporting, and database technologies.

  • A proven track record of strong problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrate an ability to contribute positively to the collaborative and inclusive culture we are building

  • Prefer experience in BigID, Informatica tools (PowerCenter, Axon, Enterprise Data Catalog, Data Quality), Tableau, Denodo, Alteryx or similar tools

This role is full time work from home (WFH), also known as Remote. This role can be performed from any US based location within the central or eastern time zone. CNO Financial Group offices reopened in April 2022 and we will be pursuing a hybrid working model. Associates who live within a 60 mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Philadelphia, Orlando and Milwaukee) will have access to come into that Office up to 2 days/week, and work from home at least 3 days/week. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
