CNO Financial Group Sr. Solution Architect in Carmel, Indiana
Under limited technical direction, the Solution Architect will design solutions based on business requirements. Solutions range across a wide and diverse set of applications. He/she will lead technical resources to the successful delivery of solution goals across applications and technologies. Provides guidance and feasibility analysis for project delivery teams. Works within significant limits and authority on assignments requiring moderate to high technical complexity and coordination ((i.e. scope of <$1M). Leads projects and has accountability for ongoing activities and objectives. May manage parts of enterprise-wide projects.
Key Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Under limited technical direction, provides logical solution architecture details for applications, integrations, and components required to successfully complete projects and meet business goals/requirements.
Design solutions across a wide and diverse set of applications, based on business requirements.
Provides project technical oversight; reviews technical design from development teams and coordinates across all technical teams.
Partners with business and business delivery groups to understand business requirements.
Adheres to CNO architecture standards.
Frequently interacts with other IT disciplines, analysts, developers, testers, project manager to ensure successful delivery of projects.
Provides high level estimates for complex and sometimes incomplete requirements.
Prototypes and evaluates new technologies.
Create high quality architectures and corresponding documentation.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Strong technical experience on complex problems and applications.
Strong understanding and knowledge base of architecture and solutioning principles/practices.
Works independently with limited guidance. Strong knowledge of a diverse set of applications and solutioning.
Has a strong understanding of current technology landscape and solution patterns.
Understand principles and usage of services based architecture.
Strong ability to solve complex technical problems through methodical thinking, planning and overcoming obstacles.
Strong and effective communicator. Able to discuss complex problems across both technical and non-technical audiences.
Has subject matter expertise in application development and development methodologies.
Strong interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork and facilitation.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and other business-related software.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
Typically requires a minimum of five to seven years of related technical experience, with increasing responsibility.
Time as a technical lead/lead programmer is a plus.
Experience interacting with, explaining and influencing upline managers and directors
Extensive development experience in modern web-based language
Experience on project teams building large enterprise, mission critical systems
Experience building database back systems and constructing scalable data backends for applications
