CNO Financial Group Sr. Marketing Data Scientist in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The CNO MARKETING TEAM is hiring a SR. MARKETING DATA SCIENTIST to help optimize direct marketing spend and overall marketing maturity by independently supporting Lead Statistician on critical analyses of complex and highly visible marketing campaigns. The job is responsible for building customer profiles and statistical models to improve campaign performance. He/she will provide analytic expertise to collaborate on the development of analytically sound marketing tests and will be responsible for both analyzing the test results and making recommendations for campaign adjustments. The role will provide input into marketing strategies by providing analytical customer insights including developing and refining customer segmentations.

The SR. MARKETING DATA SCIENTIST position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Translates business needs into predictive models to improve results of marketing campaigns.

  • Perform detailed customer and prospect analyses for use in acquisition and cross sell strategies. Supports Lead Statistician with shifting strategies within customer segments across the Sales organization.

  • Develop and refine customer and market segments, profiles, and targeted audiences.

  • Model marketing test design. Presents models and conclusions to management. May assist Lead with consult or presentations to executives.

  • Analyze and monitor results of marketing initiatives and report on marketing campaign performance where necessary.

  • Serve as an internal consultant on analytics and analytical methods.

  • Consult on ways to improve marketing results and proactively mine data warehouses to identify key trends and analytic insights.

  • Work closely with third party data providers on data and database related items.

  • Present analytic results in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders.

The SR. MARKETING DATA SCIENTIST position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Specialized expertise and understanding of modeling techniques, as well as building and maintaining big data models.

  • Strong SAS skills, additional knowledge or willingness to learn other programming languages such as R and Python, as well as machine learning platforms such as Dataiku, H20.ai, and DataRobot Strong skilled in working with large relational databases.

  • Highly skilled in reach and analytics capabilities; Strong summarizing and presenting analytic insights.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills, with strong ability to build, test, and iterate on medium to large scale projects of moderate complexity. May support lead on some large and complex projects

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to create presentations that have a logical sequence and flow to tell a story.

  • Excellent attention to detail and conscientious.

  • Has a strong understanding of the Consumer and Worksite sales divisions and basic commercial awareness including how competitors may differentiate itself.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer/data science, math/statistics, or other related field. A Master’s Degree preferred.

  • Requires a minimum of five to seven years of experience in building marketing models and conducting marketing analytics.

  • Previous preference for experience with the following: SAS, Python, Stata and R

  • Prior experience in the insurance industry a plus.

Relocation Available: No

CNO Financial Group is pursuing a hybrid working model. Our associates will have access to come into their affiliated Office (Carmel, Chicago or Philadelphia) up to 2 days/week, and work from home at least 3 days/week. To ensure accessibility to our corporate campuses, we ask that candidates reside within a 90 minute drive of the position location.

Job Grade: Senior
