CNO Financial Group Business Development Manager in United States

In this position, the Business Development Manager will identify and cultivate new prospects from relationships built within our three tier distribution channel (Benefit Consultants, Insurance Carriers & Human Resource Professionals). You will also be responsible to up-sell our suite of shared services to existing clients. Minimum requirements are a bachelor's degree, a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, Go To Meeting, CRM Software Salesforce, and sales / client facing experience. Primary requirement: Individual must be driven and self-motivated.

  • Serves customers by selling products; meeting customer needs.

  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound campaign follow up and outbound cold calls, emails, and LinkedIn messages

  • Drive conversion of suspect to prospect through account research, identifying key players and generating interest in WBD solutions

  • Effectively Supporting Marketing Initiatives

  • Drive cross selling activities in customer base - media sales, portal, communications

  • Demonstrate Technical, Product & Industry Expertise

  • Become proficient in our CRM, Salesforce. Dedicated to data quality and meticulous population of key sales information

  • Devoted to continuous learning of industry - trends, competitors and the market

  • Have the ability to provide an overview of Web Benefits Design Portfolio of Products & Services in written form and verbally. Must know how to answer basic questions about our service offerings. Demonstrate ability to articulate Web Benefits Design value messaging

  • Develop and execute a cold calling strategy to target prospects

  • Mine existing clients for referral business

  • Build mutually beneficial relationships with benefit consultants and insurance carriers

  • Connect customers' business needs with Web Benefits Design’s products and services

  • Build network in person and via phone with key decision makers in a designated territory

  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.

  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.

  • Expected to sell products and services that translates into income to the firm.

  • Use the full scope of resources at WBD to meet sales quota (see attached sales quota sheet).

  • Effectively use executive management to make sales.

Education and Experience:

  • 1-3 years sales experience in the software, employee benefits and/or HR administration space

  • Client facing sales experience.

  • Consulting experience through long sales cycles.

  • Self-motivated; set and identify goals (activities, results, income).

  • Bachelors degree required
