Optavise, a CNO Financial Group Company, is seeking a Member Support Specialist. The Member Support Specialist supports members in navigating Optavise services. This role involves being the first point of contact for members to Optavise services, providing exceptional customer service and using knowledge of Optavise services to ensure members are directed to the appropriate second-level support. This role has responsibility for troubleshooting platform issues, verifying eligibility, and directing calls to tier 2 support when appropriate. The Member Support Specialist is responsible for documenting interactions, collaborating with team members to resolve concerns efficiently, and actively listening to understand members’ needs.

As a Member Support Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Listen to member inquiries and utilize knowledge of Optavise services and processes to provide appropriate service.

  • Deliver technical support for benefit-related inquiries and resolve issues related to benefits eligibility and platform functionality.

  • Direct calls to tier 2 resources for members requiring additional assistance and accurately document interactions.

  • Troubleshoot urgent or complex technical issues and escalate unresolved concerns to appropriate teams.

  • Establish a positive connection with members through courteous and professional communication.

  • Adhere to HIPAA, PHI, and PII compliance standards, consistently meeting performance expectations for productivity and call quality.

The Member Support Specialist position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Proficiency in Salesforce or similar contact management systems is highly preferred.

  • Exceptional communication and writing skills, with the ability to clearly and persuasively convey complex information to support members and their dependents.

  • Strong collaboration skills, enabling effective teamwork to resolve member cases efficiently.

  • Advanced customer service and problem-solving abilities to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement practical solutions.

  • Capability to set clear expectations for timely follow-ups, including outlining issue management and potential outcomes.

  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills, maintaining a positive and professional attitude during challenging conversations.

  • Quick adaptability and proficiency in learning internal systems and tools essential for the role.

  • Reliable, high-speed internet connection is required to effectively manage platform functionality, support telephony requirements, and ensure seamless communication with members.

What you’ll need:

  • High School Diploma

  • Two years in a customer service/call center or benefits administration support role.

  • Previous experience in a role related to using technology, multi-tasking and written/verbal communication to drive daily responsibilities.

What will set you apart:

  • Associate’s degree

  • Previous experience with employee benefits for either provider or payor perspective preferred

  • 4+ years of experience in a call center environment or technical support role

  • 1+ year of experience with Salesforce

  • 1+ years of experience with benefits administration software
