CNO Financial Group Sr. Life Underwriter in Carmel, Indiana

Salary Range : $70,100 - $105,100 Annual

Job Details

The stated pay range is based on a national-average location. Actual salary is determined by factors including relevant work experience, skills and location. This position is bonus eligible.

CNO Financial Group is hiring a Sr. Life Underwriter to be responsible for the accurate and timely risk assessment and evaluation of life applications, renewals or cancellations utilizing the underwriting policy, guidelines, insurance laws and regulations.

As a Sr. Life Underwriter , your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing caseload to achieve desired objectives

  • Contributing to the building and maintaining of strong relationships within the organization

  • Responsibility for the risk decision of new and existing business of all life policies within delegated authority levels and company guidelines

  • Maintaining an awareness of changing practices and regulations

  • Effectively partnering with co-workers and agents to create a high performance organization

  • Ability to serve as a SME to provide input on department procedures or practices

  • Serving as a mentor to less experienced underwriters

The Sr. Life Underwriter position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of life products

  • Exhibit proficiency in underwriting all life products

  • Possess thorough knowledge of regulatory and policy differences among states in which business is transacted

  • Are actively working towards profession designations

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or eight years of relevant experience as equivalent

  • Three years of direct life underwriting experience

  • Three years of experience in a production-oriented environment

What will set you apart:

  • Willingness to work Central or Eastern time zone business hours

Associates who live outside of a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Orlando and Milwaukee) may perform this role full-time work from home (WFH) from any US based location, as long as you are willing to work central or eastern time zone hours.

All associates may be asked to travel to varying corporate offices periodically. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
